While computers, technology, and the inevitable charge of ongoing automation continues to power our society, now more than ever, there’s a recent callback and inclining for the feel, touch, smell and personalization of the loss in a craft, computers can not offer.
I come from a fine arts background, but spent my professional career working in architecture & interior design firms and most recently the film industry. Being laid off, like many of us, as a result of the pandemic has allowed me to reflect back on the simple things and return to my foundation of pen to paper. In my case what started out as a passion hobby, developed into something greater. My personalized illustrations are a love letter for the special touch we seek right now, in an overly consumed digital world.
